Starting a new practice.

Every time I start to paint, it all begins with color. The first thing that normally happens is I cover a canvas in Prussian blue, and then, once all of that oppressive white is gone from the canvas I start chipping at the blue with cadmium hues until I start to see a shape. Then I follow that like a moth to flame, never really sure what it is that I’m headed for. In this case it’s manta rays headed toward the light. this mornin I sit to begin anew and I wonder. What shapes might they see as they ponder in the morning light? The few who find this and wonder. Last I asked she saw cities on the backs of the larger rays... what do you see what are they headed towards?
